A friend once remarked, “The thing about having a public profile is that people think they know you well.”
And while the said perceptions are dependent on the narratives we ourselves share (touché), there is still the factor that people choose to understand that which they would like to believe.
There’s the crux of the matter— the plurality of view points always exposes our actions and intentions both to criticism and praise.
Why do I write this today? It’s a reminder to keep our peace and mental health in check.
With so many roles to play in work and life— with so much information to process within them— it is impossible to be perfectly on top of everything, and to resolve all things to everyone’s satisfaction.
If you can get things right most of the time, that’s great. If you make a lot of embarrassing mistakes and still get up to do better, then you’re on the right track. At the end of the day, remember to choose to keep your mind on what matters, and celebrate the grace that defines you.
